Dear Friday,
Thank you! This week went by super fast thanks to Monday! Now if only every week went this fast, I would love it!! You are the LAST Friday & LAST day of the month!! 

Dear Time,
Speaking of going so fast, why must you go super fast when I want to enjoy my days home from working at the preschool or go super fast when I love hanging at the beach but when I am at work you seem to go super slow? 

Dear Shakeology,
Thank you for cutting my cravings & giving me a healthy meal each day! I seriously love you & look forward to you EVERY day! 

Dear Alex,
I really think that I deserve those dresses. The one would be super cute for graduation & the other would be even better for the BBQ at the house. I am just saying how awesome it would be!! Can I please get them? I love you. 

Dear Cy,
Next week you will be here. I am so excited to spend the next 6 weeks with you & show to you that you truly can get in shape. Just gotta find that motivation again & I will find it for you! 

Dear Ladies in my 5 day challenge,

With everything that has been going on in my life, I have come up with some awesome blog post. I cant wait to share! Now if only I can find the time to write it all up. I wish the preschool had internet so I could blog while working! :) now that would be the dream!!

It's Okay Thursday

The best part of 4 day work weeks is that Thursday creeps up on us without us even realizing its Thursday & I honestly couldn't be more thankful for that! I say every week should be a 4 day work week!

...I am slowly writing more & more post ahead of time so I do not have to leave you without a post

...that this week really isn't that exciting besides tonight is 2nd to last night of teeball {Saturday is his last day}

...that teeball flew by,I feel like it was just February & we were starting 

...that this time NEXT week, my baby sister will be here for 6 weeks

...Next friday is Tim McGraw concert & it will be 3 years almost to the date Alex & I went on our first date

Secrets for Healthy Skin

Summer is here.. at least for us in San Diego. We are suppose to have 80+ degree weather this week. This just means pool time!! I honestly don't see it cooling down anytime soon either so I might as well embrace the warmth! 
Tammy over at healthline.com is here to share some tips on how to keep your skin safe from the sun for years to come to stay young forever!

Keeping Your Skin Safe from the Sun

Most of us love to sport a nice glowing tan during the summer months but we have to be careful about how we get that nice tan
 


The sun’s UV rays can be very damaging to the skin. The one thing we want to avoid the most is a sunburn. Not only is a sunburn painful, it can cause the most damage to the skin especially if you get a second or third degree burn.

Often times in return for your efforts of trying to get a nice tan you end up with a burn. These burns can come with an unattractive scaly, peeling skin as a reward for your efforts.


 

Your number one defense against the sun’s rays is sunscreen. Even if you want a little color, you still need to wear sunscreen. 

Instead of using one with an SPF of 50, use one with an SPF of 20.
Also, limit the amount of time you spend in the sun especially during the sun’s peak hours, which are 10 am to 4 pm with the sun being at its highest peak between the hours of 1 pm to 3 pm. If you go out into the sun on a hot day during highest peak hours, you are not going to tan you are going to fry!

If you enjoy sitting by the pool with a nice ice-cold soda or beer during the summer afternoons be sure to wear sunscreen, (water attracts the sun) and wear a wide brim hat to help shield your face.

If you prefer your natural skin color and can do without a tan, here are some tips to keep your skin extra protected.
  • Always wear a high SPF sunscreen
  • Wear a wide brim hat (brim of about 3 inches wide)
  • Wear a light cotton or silk long sleeve shirt and pants
  • Cover those feet, they can burn too and trying to walk on sunburned feet, not so much fun
  • Stay indoors between the hours of 1 pm and 3 pm
  • Sit under an umbrella or under a big shady tree
  • Avoid the hottest part of the day (1 pm – 3 pm) this is especially true for people who are fair skinned, have green hazel or blue eyes and those who freckle easily.
  • I think it goes without saying that young children should be either inside during the peak hours or they should be smothered in a high SPF sunscreen from head to toe. In addition to being closely monitored for the start of a sunburn. Unfortunately, most of the time a sunburn does not appear until an hour or longer after the skin has become burned. To check for a burn place your hand on the skin, if it is hot then it is most likely burned.


Everyone likes to enjoy those warm/hot “dog” days of summer without having to worry about sunscreen, hats, umbrellas and all that other stuff. However, if you want to maintain healthy skin you need worry about all that “stuff!”

You can still enjoy your summer, just be smart about it. It only takes a couple of minutes to apply sunscreen and slap a hat on your head before you head out into the sun. Take breaks in the shade if you are working outside. If you are at a BBQ, grab your beverage of choice and a chair and spend a little while sitting in the shade. 

Your skin will thank you for it especially when you get older and your sundried damaged skin does not match your leather handbag!

Weekend Recap [V.21]

It's TUESDAY...
The best part means that I am just now recapping my weekend from a 3 day weekend..
I know I never recapped last weekend but truth be told there was NO pictures from Dad's 50th birthday.. The only thing that was missed out on was I flooded my bathroom & a padre game with the brother. 

Also don't forget I FINALLY made a facebook page for this lovely ol' blog of mine!! 

Back to this weekend...

Friday
I worked at Preschool all day than came home did some workout & hung around. It was quiet & really needed a nice relaxing night at home. 

Still on my workout kick Day 13 of 30 for ChaLEAN extreme 
I promise to do a whole post on what I have been doing & how I have lost 13 inches total in the last 2 weeks 

Saturday
We stayed home in the morning because the road was shut down until 1230pm. I finally slept in until 8:30 it felt so good!! In the afternoon we headed to my aunt's for dinner & family time. 

Swimming 

Sunday 

I normally dread sunday's because that means the weekend is basically over but not this time. We had an extra day. We hung out at home, did some catch up & than headed back to my aunts for some left overs & watch nascar. 


Monday
We slept in until 9am! We had to take full advantage of memorial day & did it feel amazing. Did some work & some laundry & back to the grind of working out & clean eating. 

 Seeing results & can't wait to finish the full 30 days! 

Dinner was Asian Stir Fry from the food guide of ChaLEAN
Back to the regular week of work work work... 

On a brighter note: My sister will be here in 8 days!!!

Dear Friday,
Thank you for always showing up just in time as I think I am about to lose my mind if I don't get a break. 

Dear Losing my mind,
No matter how long of a weekend  I have, I am more than likely still losing my mind. Please just come back as soon as possible because it is no to lose you & run around like a headless chicken. 

Dear Self,
Stop spreading yourself so thin. You take on so many projects and always must achieve them and put 110% into it all but than you get so down on yourself. Just say No, it won't kill anyone I promise. 

Dear Memorial Day Weekend,
Thank you for giving me a 3 day weekend! I am going to love every second of you even if it means sitting at home & staring at a tv for hours on ends. Maybe I can enjoy a nice cold beer too!! 

Dear Alex,
I know you are tired, but guess what, 3 day weekends means we get to sleep in!! I seriously can't wait. I am not sure if I am more excited to sleep in or the fact we have no teeball this weekend!! 

Dear Indy,
My favorite fur nephew! I love you. I am so glad to have you in my home for the next 9 months!! Hope you behave & don't worry your owner misses you dearly. 

Dear Lord,
Thank you for continuing to bless me each & everyday. I honestly don't think I say thank you enough as I am too busy asking for more. You have truly provided me an amazing life & many blessings. You know exactly what to do with my life and are the right moments. This moment, as we are in a rough time, I am handing it to you and allowing you to make the right decision for all of us involved. I know you will provide for us and bless us. I am reflecting on Jeremiah 29:11 "For I know the plans I have for you" declares the Lord "plans to prosper and not harm you, plans to give you hope and a future" Here's to you! 

Dear Readers,
Thank you for hanging out this week as I took it off to focus on my final which I passed with an A. I am working a ton at the preschool {wish I could quit} & working at home still. I am also gearing up for the 5 day fitness challenge and soon a 30 day challenge if anyone would be interested in more information. There is a lot going on and not to mention I am enjoying the nice weather & family time. It's Ok I am Back

This might be hands down the BEST e-card out there..

Back to regular scheduling if I ever truly have a regular schedule of things around these parts.. 

It's Ok

...Today is the last day EVER of It's Ok with Brunch with Amber

...That I might continue to do this on my own just because sometimes its a way to just vent 

...that I took this week off due to school, working a ton, recovering from Dad's 50th & so much more

...that I flooded my bathroom on Dad's 50th 

...that Dad wants me to go back to school for my current job to hopefully help out 

...I got an A in my class this semester (About frickin' time) 

...that I have summer class though than 1 class away from my Preschool Directors permit through the state of California 

...that I am seriously thinking about heading back to school for my master next fall 

...that I am 134 days away from my Birthday/Anniversary cruise so I will be on the grind 

...that I am doing a 5 day fitness challenge & can't wait to speak with all the ladies involved 

...that I love my husband 

...that I am so far behind on work that I need to spend this weekend catching up 

...that I have big dreams & hopes 

...that I have many post ideas in my head & yet I feel I have no time to write them 

...to follow me on insta because I am so far behind on catch up on here

Dear Weekend,
I am so excited to see you here. Tomorrow is dad's 50th birthday. I can't believe it is FINALLY here. Dude is coming down to visit & we might even hit up a Padre game finally! 

Dear Alex,
I am so ready for this weekend. I want to sleep & workout. Is it weird that I am saying that I can't wait to workout again? 

Dear Workout,
I frickin' love you! You truly have changed my mind set over the last 2 weeks. I feel so much better, sleeping better, & even working harder. 

Dear Cynthia,
You will be here in 19 days. I can't wait! Be ready to have your life change yet again!

Dear Me,
You are spreading yourself thin. Take a step back & let it go. Things will fall into place as it is suppose to. No need to stress over it. 

Dear Beach Camping,
You are 54 days away & i can't wait to spend 4 days in the sun & sand!

It's Ok Thursday

It's Ok

...I made the BEST shakeology drink this morning

...I am on day 4 of ChaLEAN extreme & loving it 

...that I am no longer shopping, i miss it but I rather pay off my credit card bills & plan for our next cruise 

...I pulled out my pair of jeans that I want to fit into by the time my 30 day challenge is over 

...that I am going to be doing a 5 day fit challenge, want to join? Just let me know! Also, a 30 day challenge! I am only going to take between 5-7 ladies for it. It will be us against the world! 

...that I have no desire to work today but I know I have LOTS to do so I must do it

...that since starting Shakeology, I have eaten less & made better food choices. 

...my whole mind set has changed over the last two weeks due to working out again 

...that I have dreams of being in the 120's again soon 

...that I made a facebook page finally 

NOT okay that I have to work a FULL day tomorrow at preschool but I guess that's good for paying my speeding ticket from last week!

Make The Effort

I know I am way behind on this Blog Every Day in May Challenge ! Truth be told I love it, I am just struggling with time management currently. It is obviously not a forte of mine! I am trying to catch up, so if you get a few post in one day that is because I am catching up with this, wedding & honeymoon recaps & sorta everyday post.

Day 8 of my challenge is to give one piece of advice to everyone around me.

With everything that has been going in my life for the last six to seven months & I know a few people who went/are going through this same rough time in life. It is very difficult time. It's almost as if you don't know what to do or what to say. Yet I always try to remember, those who want to be in your life will make the effort! At the same token, remember if you want to be in someone's life make the effort. Sometimes it's not a two way street and the effort isn't noticed but at least you can say you tried!

All Aboard!!!!

I am going to skip the wedding update & go straight to the honeymoon we took a few weeks ago (okay a month ago)
Don't you worry your pretty little head though (anyone catch what song?) I will get back to recapping the wedding, maybe tomorrow as soon as I catch up on May Blog Challenge too! 
I get it, I am so far behind on blogging that I just don't know what to do? I say quit my preschool job & go back to working from home/blogging! {I wish EVERYDAY I am at that preschool I could do that!}

I was married in October 2012 & recently as in April 18,2013 took my honeymoon on a SHORT 4 day pacific cruise since it left out of San Diego.

We went to:
Santa Barbara
Catalina
Ensenada  

Today is all about day 1 of the cruise.. Boarding the cruise & exploring! Alex & I have NEVER been on a cruise. He has deployed on a ship before but nothing like this so to say we were excited was an understatement  Not to forget, we had the ALL you can drink package! & when Celebrity cruise line say ALL you can drink, they surely meant it! We tested those waters.

Super windy out! & damn do I look skinny!!! {working on that now!!! - I stepped off that cruise ship weighing the HEAVIEST I have EVER been in my entire life} 

The worst part about it, you can't go straight to your room. They let you hang around the ship for a few hours before opening up the rooms, but they do feed you & allow you to start drinking!

After we explored the boat a bit & a few hours past we finally were able to head to our rooms. 
I was pretty bummed though because we didn't get towel animals nor anything special for being our "honeymoon"



Testing out our bed for the next few nights.. I will say it was comfy but doesn't compare to my bed! 


I will say cruising is going to be just way too much fun! Before we even got off the ship, we had booked another cruise to Alaska next August and we are heading to a carnival one for my birthday/1 year anniversary in October. The food is good, the drinks are great & the weight you gain sucks BIG time, but hey we can't win them all!! It was worth EVER pound I gain {which was about 10, like I said I was the heaviest I have ever been in my life & clothes still aren't fitting just yet}

{I am on a fitness journey now & almost back to pre cruise weight hopefully reach before wedding weight too before August - I will be posting about it in the next week, you can follow me along on insta as well}

& because my aunt insist on everyone who cruises with her for the first time has to take life jacket pictures, this is ours for the picture frame of shame.. I must admit ours didn't turn out looking too bad!

Weekend Update [V.19]

My weekend is over. I can't believe how fast it goes when your having fun and relaxing. We did nothing too exciting so if you decide not to finish reading, I understand. 

I will say though that San Diego thinks its summer time not spring so this 100+ degree weather is OVER RATED



Friday
I stayed home and watched one of my favorite movies. 

Does anyone else ALWAYS cry when she starts talking to Bear in the grave?  This movie gets me EVERY TIME & I just love it. 

Saturday
I slept in. This seems to ever be the only days I can sleep in. 
We went to teeball. 

After teeball it was family nap time than off to my aunts for dinner than off to the mall to pick up one of my favorite ladies a birthday present

What am I Most Afraid Of

I knew I wouldn't be able to avoid this for the Day 7 of Blog Everyday May Challenge 

The things I am most afraid of,this list could go on far too long. 

Losing my father: I am deathly scared to lose my dad. I am daddy's little girl. I can't imagine my life without him being by my side. He truly is one of the most amazing men I know. He is me hero! 

Putting my animals down: I know in the long run it is most likely what is best for them but I hate it. I am afraid of it. I am afraid they will hate me for it, but I know they will want to me to find another one of them to love on & give them a happy home too! 

Divorce: I am a product of divorce parents. I am not saying I would rather my parents still married but I am afraid of it. {No we are NOT getting a divorce} I am just saying if/ God willing we don't need too/ I am afraid of them. 

This would lead me to, being alone. I don't want to grow old by myself or not enjoy life. I want someone by my side to enjoy those moments in life, to watch our children grow, to enjoy grand children, to explore the world, to travel, to take too many pictures and laugh. To sit on the front porch & watch the grass grow! 

Not being able to have children - I want to know what a little one of me would be like. I want to know their personality. I want to feel those kicks. I want to know what it's like to be pregnant. I just pray that it happens at the right moment in life to enjoy it. Embrace it. 

The last thing I am afraid of.. becoming overweight! I am so scared of it. I am scared I will have to buy ALL new clothes, bigger clothes, that I won't have self confidence, that I will hate myself for allowing myself to get there. There are so many factors into this that I just scare myself so bad that I workout. I try to watch what I eat. I try to set realistic goals. It is a HUGE fear of mine. 

I kept it to my 6 biggest fears.
