A shot a day keeps the doctor away. That was the tagline for when I posted this picture on instagram sometime last week. Than I started to get emails asking me how do I drink it, what is it for, and why. Here is all the answers.
I started taking this shot every morning because of my aunt back in March. I took about a month or so off it because I just wasn't sure anymore if it was truly working. Dumb me to even think that. I will be the first to tell you, IT WORKS!
How to make it:
- 1/2 cup of warm water (you can use room temperature but I prefer warm)
- 1/2 lemon
- Dash Turmeric
- A few dashes of Cayenne Pepper
- 1 Tablespoon of Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV)
- Straw
I use a measuring cup for liquids. I measure the water, ACV, squeeze the half of lemon, than I put the dash of turmeric and a few extra dashes of cayenne pepper. I use my straw to mix and than I drink it.
After I drink it, I usually chase it with some more water. It doesn't taste the best but the benefits are amazing.
Make sure you use a straw to get it to the back of your mouth because the lemon can be bad for your teeth. The first few days are the worst, after that you become accustomed to the taste, promise.
Benefits:
- Natural anti-inflammatory
- Aids in weight loss
- Helps clear skin
- Natural detox
- Balances PH
- Stronger nails and hair
- Plus many other benefits
I would suggest you try it for three weeks. They say it takes 21 days to make a habit. Track the differences you feel and than decide if you should continue or not. I promise you will keep up with it.
Make sure you buy the raw, unfiltered, organic Apple Cider Vinegar that says "with the mother". Bragg (pictured above) is the best I have found in taste and quality.
Cheers!
My MIL has a shot of ACV everyday and swears by it. I had never heard of adding the tumeric or cayenne though. I miiiiight have to take this challenge :)
ReplyDeleteOff topic: When I was pregnant, I read to do a shot of ACV for heartburn (which was supposed to be diluted with water), except I skipped the water part and basically scalded my poor throat which had been irritated from the acid. Note to self: DON'T DRINK ACV STRAIGHT!
ReplyDeleteI have heard of something similar to this before... It doesn't sound delicious but I am thinking about trying it!!
