THE BIG ANNOUNCEMENT

In the beginning of January I wrote a post about my word of the year, Brave. I told myself I was going to be brave enough this year to set my soul on fire and follow my dreams. It's nerve wrecking putting that out into the world and not really knowing how I was going to do those things. I had no idea what steps I would have to take or even where to start with following my dreams. I just knew it was something I needed to do to build my tribe

Fast forward, February. After a lot of research and some chatting with friends, I decided to jump right into it. I decided I wasn't going to let the fear of failure keep me from chasing my dreams. Thankfully it didn't & I have such supportive family and friends because...

Hello March - I have BIG plans for you!

Can we take a moment to realize we are in March now? This year is just flying by but I am perfectly okay with that.

March ❥:

Looking back at February, I am so glad I kept my goals simple.

  • Make sure to put Christmas Decor away
  • Continue Meal Planning
  • Write two blog post a week
  • Spend as much time with Hubby as possible
I would say 3/4 was a success. I did not write my blog post as it was a crazy month and as usual blogging got kicked to the curb.

Now that we are in March, I have different plans.

I want to get back into blogging more frequently (just not sure exactly about what yet) - I want to share my fitness journey with all of you - also I have all this extra free time now that it's just me.

March Goals

  • Clean the cabinet (that one dreaded cabinet) out in the Kitchen
  • Start/Read See Me by Nicholas Sparks
  • Go Through the Papers on my Desk
  • Share my Fitness journey/Goals
  • Deep Clean two rooms in the house
Nothing too crazy as usual just trying to adjust back to life.

What are your goals for March?

February Goals

Who used January as a warm up/trial month? January just slipped away from me and honestly I wouldn't even know what my goals were if I didn't write them down here. Looking back at them, just WOW!

Looking back at January Goals: All of my goals were a fail besides Monthly meal planning and starting the 24 day cleanse.

Planning for February: This is a month of lots of changes happening for me

February Goals

  • Make sure to put Christmas Decor away: I have it all boxed up but just haven't actually put the boxes away. I know it's so simple just haven't done it.

  • Continue meal planning: I am loving the fact of meal planning and not having to guess what's for dinner.

  • Write two blog post a week: I am going to try to write twice a week, if I write more great but I am shooting for twice and I already have some great ideas in mind. (my HSN and my 24 day challenge experience)

  • Spend as much time with the hubby as possible: Work is taking him again so it's important we spend time together and making those memories.
I am keeping February short and simple this month to hopefully get back into the grove and actually remember my goals. Let's do this!

What are your February Goals?

January Goals

Hey ya'll! I know I listed my 2016 goals  but I wanted to break my goals down by month too. So here are my January goals even though we are a little over a week into the month.

Anyone else impressed that I am 4 for 4 so far this week with post? I am even shocking myself! I even know what I am going to post about tomorrow, so I will be 5 for 5!

Goals for January

  • Start my 24 day cleanse
I am doing the advocare 24 day cleanse starting Monday (Jan. 11) I want to actually 100% commit to it and see what kind of results I will get from it. I am planning on documenting it, so be prepared to see those post next week.

  • Create a workout plan
I want to create a homework out plan. We almost have entire gym in my house and I don't use it. I really need to start to truly get where I want to be in the near future as swimsuit season is almost here.

  • Catch up on Work
I know this was a 2016 goal, but I need to catch up from 2015 to make sure 2016 doesn't start lacking behind too. I am going to make a work schedule like as if I was in an office. I am thinking of making my working hours from 10-4 Tuesday and Wednesdays and Friday will be 9-3 so I will have time to do stuff before the weekend starts.

  • Find a book to read
I am taking suggestions for a good book to read. I have an app so I can borrow books from the library and or I am willing to purchase them on my kindle, I just need something interesting to read that I look forward too. I want to read 1 book this month.

  • Make sure the Christmas Stuff gets put away
If I don't put this on the to do list, the Christmas stuff will sit around until next year. It's all sitting in a room currently we rarely use so it's not really in the way to the point of making sure we do it. So, this will be happening, I just need to put the tree skirt away than it's all ready to go away.

  • Meal Plan for the Month
I want to write down my meals for this month so I can start creating meal plans. I stopped stressing about EVERY day and started doing 4 days a week of planning (I plan just dinners). I am ready to increase to maybe 5-6 nights a week and include a night of left overs. Any tips for meal planning?

There are my goals for this month. I am going to keep it simple so I can complete each goal. Did you make January goals along with your 2016 goals? Let's hear them!

1.05.2016

2016 Goals

It's been awhile since I have really thought about some goals. What I want 2016 to look like for me? I guess now is better than never to share them and hold myself accountable. I am hoping to do monthly check in's with the goals as well so I stay on track unlike last year.

//Motivation: I want to stay motivated to continue working out and eating healthy. Last year was a lot more failures than successes so I want the opposite this year. {I will do a post on my fitness goals}

//Read: I have a goal to read about 7 books this year. To some it might not seem a lot but currently I have been reading the same book for over a year, so I really need to get back into it. I miss it.

//Stay caught up on work: I know somethings are out of my control but I really need to buckle down and do the work so I am not so stressed out by the end of the month each month. This will also help to stay motivated.

//Grow Wifesticated/Social Media: I would love to interact more with my readers and grow all my little spaces. instagram

//Dates with the Hubby: I miss the little things with the hubby. Life has been so crazy for us the last 6-7 months so I want to get back to it.

//Pay off debt/Save money: Sounds so cliche right? We want to pay off some debt,I have been researching the best ways, and the snowball is what I was leaning towards to do it.Step one: I stopped using credit cards. Than I want to save a big chunk of money into our savings.

//Vacation: Go on at least one vacation with the hubby. We really enjoyed Cancun just the two of us, so this year we are going to look for a great place that is semi affordable to not break the bank!

What are your goals for 2016?

December Goals

Since when did it become December? I swear time is flying by so fast! Anyone else feel this way? 2015 is coming to end quickly.

November Goals

I am going to be completely honest, I suck at goals. I suck at remembering what I write and what my goals I came up with for the month.

In my defense, life has been super crazy. I feel like I am barely breathing. So praying this is a much easier month and I can accomplish my goals.

December Goals:

1// Sell my old purses - So come back hopefully by Friday and I am going to sell my old purses for a killer deal. I am not even sure what purses I have anymore.

2// Read - I put this on my list each month but I am serious. I really want to finish this book and start the new Nicholas spark book. I am thinking of buying his book on my kindle so I can go back to reading and walking on the treadmill.

3// Do some sort of physical activity for 30 minutes - I need to get back to my home workouts!

4// Organize my room - I need to get ready for 2016 as I know it's going to be a crazy year for me as the hubby & I have some big goals for the coming year.

5// Bake - I want to get back into baking again.

6// Grow social media - I want to grow my instagram account to 1k and my facebook to 500 ( I am so close)

There you have it. Nothing too crazy as the year is coming to a close. I want to enjoy the holiday with the family and get ready for an amazing 2016 so I can get back to blogging!

What are your December goals?

Happy Hump Day!

September Goals

Watch out Blog land.. I am 2 for 2 here on posting already!

Here we are in September already.. I swear we were just celebrating Christmas 2014 and I was opening all my amazing presents. Now here I am trying to plan for Christmas 2015. I need to order new stockings & enjoy fall (my favorite season) with my family!  It's crazy how fast time is flying.

August goals I think were all epic fails. So with that said, I am going to get a mulligan and start over in September.

September Goals:

1// No More Soda: I see this as a reoccurring problem. I do so well for a month or so than bam the Dr. Pepper addiction comes back in full force.

2// Work out at least 30 minutes each day: I need to get my workouts in again. I need at least 30 minutes each day but I would love to spend more than that. I would love to drop some pounds. i am going to focus on 10 pounds at a time vs. the entire process

3// Family pictures: I need to plan out our family pictures and figure out what kind of pictures I want this year. You know that Christmas planning comes with Christmas Cards

4// Try to remember I have a Twitter: It's so hard to remember to use my twitter. I am just not a fan. Maybe I will just get rid of it if I don't use it much? Is that wrong?

5// Enjoy the fact that Hubby is coming home: Missing him more & more each day. Hopefully we can go on a date too.

6// Work: Since I am gone for a week next Month I need to make sure I get most of my work done this month so it doesn't roll over into October and I can relax on vacation!

What are your goals for September?

June Goals

I know I am a bit late on the goals thingy but no worries. Better late than never right?

Let's check back on my May goals first

+give up dr. pepper & drink more water : I I did awesome at this. I think I am ok with not having it anymore. To the point now that when I have it I get a serious panic attack..eek so I guess it's for the best to stop trying.

+workout 2x a week // not including my trainer BIG FAT FAIL! I did it like the first week than it was a hit or miss. Since I got sick in the middle of the month I didn't have much motivation for much.

+clean the great room // dinning room I cleaned the great room (I just need to go through my sweatshirts and get rid of old dresses) and gotta tackle that dining room.

+eat healthier + eat more green veggies // stop eating out - I think this was a positive. We def ate at home more often than not. So considering this a win.

+watch my spending - no more michael kors shopping sprees (save for Vegas & Mexico) -- I can say I didn't buy anything else after I wrote my goals so that is a plus.

+grow my blog & think of ways to improve it. (input is always welcomed- I think it's growing and coming together nicely. Now I am just thinking of a new layout and such :)

I think over all, May was a good month for me. Than again I know I picked goals that were attainable for me because I have failed so many other times.

June Goals:

+Watch the spending and try to pay off some debt ( I think this will be a goal each month until I have mexico paid for before we leave)

+Go on a date(s) with the hubby

+Clean the dining room

+Catch up on work at home

+Use twitter more often

+Take my sister to a bar (Now that she'll be 21 on the 14th)

+Eat healthier = no more ice cream trips

May Goals

Wow! We're almost half way through May already.
Where does the time go?

Last month, I set some goals that I thought would be attainable. Let's see what I accomplished in April.

+Drink 80oz of water a day: I think I did really well with this. I drink lots of water. I kicked the dr. pepper habit for the most part until recently.

+Save money & pay off some more debt : I saved my part for reaching $5,000 by end of the year but that was it. As far as pay off some debt, I paid some off but I think I racked some up. oopps

+Workout 4x a week (anything at this point & 2 days is already covered by my trainer) : Epic fail! I only worked out really with my trainer.

+Menu plan for the entire month: Epic fail! We've only used our menu board once. I need to get one it again.

+Start & Complete the 10 day cleanse by advocare: I did it. I didn't stick to the strict food plan but I did lose some weight. I might try it again sooner than later. I did fall in love with spark though.

+Start & Read 1 book (preferably "It starts with food): I tried to read " It starts with food" but I just wasn't interested.

+Get a fitbit & use it daily! I love my garmin but I need a Heart rate monitor : LOVE MY FITBIT!!

+Keep up with cleaning the house // Deep clean 2 rooms : Epic fail. I just stopped cleaning all together. Oopps

Since I really didn't stick to my April goals. I am going to work harder these last few weeks of May to reach some goals

May goals:

+give up dr. pepper & drink more water

+workout 2x a week // not including my trainer

+clean the great room // dinning room

+eat healthier + eat more green veggies // stop eating out

+watch my spending - no more michael kors shopping sprees (save for Vegas & Mexico)

+grow my blog & think of ways to improve it. (input is always welcomed)

What goals do you have for May?

April Goals

I have this habit of writing out some "goals" on this page but then that is it! So this month I want to actually write out some goals that I can achieve and follow up with all of you.

+Drink 80oz of water a day
+Save money & pay off some more debt
+Workout 4x a week (anything at this point & 2 days is already covered by my trainer)
+Menu plan for the entire month
+Start & Complete the 10 day cleanse by advocare
+Start & Read 1 book (preferably "It starts with food)
+Get a fitbit & use it daily! I love my garmin but I need a Heart rate monitor
+Keep up with cleaning the house // Deep clean 2 rooms

I didn't go crazy with the goals but I think this is completely attainable. What are your goals for April? Remember to follow along on instagram to see how I am coming along with my goals for the month.

March Goals

It's never to late to write out some goals for the month.

I try to do this in my planner but for some reason I am not using my planner like I used too so that just tells me no more spending $50+ on a planner and just go back to a good ol' target one for next year.

1. Organize my desk: It is such a hot mess with papers everywhere and I am not even sure what is what anymore

2. Go one a date with the hubby: It's been a long time since the hubby and I went on a real date. We both have fitness goals so going out to eat is a no go for us but maybe something else.

3. Go one at least one hike: I want to go on at least one hike even if it's something small.

4. Walk on the treadmill 2x a week: I was really good when we first got it now I've faded off with it. I am hoping I can get back to it.

5. Lose 5 pounds: I am so close to the next weight group that I want to do it before April. I just need to focus on my food and continue to track it all.

6. Drink more water: I am doing pretty good with this but I can always do better.

7. Wear some new clothes: I have tons of clothes in my closet that I need to wear them and or get rid of them. I just need to do it!

8. Clean the room: It sounds so simple but it slips by me every weekend.

What are your goals for the month of March?

2.04.2015

Hello February

Wow! Hello February... When did you decide to show up so fast? Oh probably for all those people living in the snowy states. I wish it would rain a bit more here in San Diego - We need it so bad.

Do ya'll set goals for the month? I am going to set a few that I think are attainable.

*Keep up with the C25K program.
*Track all food
*Organize my desk (even if this means throwing papers out)
*Go on two date nights
*Hike at least twice
*Continue to budget and save money
*#debtfree2015 continues
*Swap at least 2 buttons
*plan and schedule post more
*drink at least 3 liters of water a day
*stay on top of work for less stress

I think that is enough for the month of February. What do you have for yourself this month?

1.08.2015

Goal Chasing

It's that time of year! You know that time where EVERYONE we know is making goals and resolutions to hopefully keep throughout 2015. Well, you can count me in with that group. I wanted to share my goals to try to help me remind myself of them this year since I am horrible at them.

-Get in the best shape of my life: I know this is so cliche. I think I have said it every year for the last 5 or so but this time I have a new determination and some motivation from the hubster & trainer. I am picking out a goal weight or anything like that, I just want to find a place that I am happy with myself.

-Pay off all credit cards: Hubster and I sat down last week and we wrote down all our debt. We decided together that this year will be the year we pay it all off even if that means no vacation to the Caribbean .

-Wear my closet: This will come I think with goal #1. The better I feel about myself the more I am likely to wear my entire closet. Also, this means no shopping and in turn will help goal #2. I see how this is going now.

-Build a stronger marriage: I think the hubster and I are strong together, but like any relationship there is always room for growth.

-More Family time: I think E man is in a very crucial time in his life where not much longer he won't want to hang around Alex and Me. I want to enjoy these moments still while they last. Also, I want to reward him more for his good behave doing something he wants to do. Basically, it comes down to I want to improve my ability to be his mommy. There is always room for growth as children do not come with books on how to raise them or I would of read it!

-Read more: I want to read more books and not just the romance novels I love but more books to help reach these other goals.

-Grow individual: I think this will come when I reach those other goals but I want to find a balance in my life. I want to organize my life.

- One last goal, take a simple vacation with Alex. I think this will help build our marriage, grow as a couple, grow as individuals and support each other. It doesn't have to be anywhere fancy but just a weekend away, just the two of us. No phones or anything.

What are your goals for 2015?

Embrace The Change

Well hello September 10...When did you get here so fast?
The last nine months have just flown by, I swear just yesterday we were celebrating the end of 2013 and beginning 2014. Now here I am trying to navigate my way through the last few months of 2014.

I feel as if I am barely keeping my head afloat. I am drowning in all things around me. Life just keeps throwing me curve ball after ball but I must count my blessings that I am still able to swing at those curve balls, right?

This month is also the month of many changes in my life that I am not sure how things will play out. I am just going to take it day by day and watch where life takes me.

With all that said, I am going to set a few goals to hopefully help me in this struggle of life.

* Drink 100oz of water each day
* No Starbucks
* Wear fit bit each day to count steps
* Workout at least 3x a week
* Blog at least 3 x a week
* Write in my journal about 5 things I am thankful for each day
* Sleep 8 hours a night
* Stop stressing over the things I can not change
* Change eating habits
* Do something fun for myself
* Catch up on all my work and clean my desk

Bring it on September, by the end of the month I want to say yes I achieved all of this.

What are your goals for September?

Somethings I Dream About

Let me first say sorry for not blogging yesterday. I really had every intention of doing so but than the hubby got crazy and woke me up for the gym & by the time I was home, breakfast, shower and random other things it was time to work.

Now back to my original post.

When did it become half way through August?
I know I am a  few days early on the half way.. but you just wait, it will be here before we know it.

I love setting goals for myself each month because it allows me to stay accountable and checking what I made. I keep them simple and short.

Checking back into my July Goals

1. Workout: You can say I have been doing so. During the week I am great but the weekends I fail.

2. Food planning: I did okay in July. On that note though, I am rocking August. I love that it helps keeps my fiances in check too.

3. Date night: We've watched movies but I think it's time we actually do something fun.

4. Read and writing: Let's just say a big epic fail.

August Goals

1. Workout: I want to continue working out 6 times a week. I know this will have a huge affect on my food choices and my body changing. I am also thinking about throwing my scale out (hiding it from myself).

2. Use my financial binder: We made financial binder to keep track of all my spending. I want to use it for the rest of the year to see where all my money is going. We are in the process of putting an expensive pool in but I want things paid off first before the big payment.

3. Date nights:  With the hubby leaving in the near near future. I want a few date nights. I even made a bucket list for us before he leaves. I am hoping we have enough time to get it all completed.

4. Stay focus on work and prioritize: I am huge into multi tasking (facebook, pinterest, instagram, work) but lately I have been trying to stay off all those and focus just on work. I also want to make sure work is a priority for me so that I am less stress later in the month when it comes to closing the month.

I am keeping it simple and hopefully this will help make them all green for August.

What are your goals for this month??

7.15.2014

June to July...

When did it become July, let alone middle of July? It is so crazy to me how fast time is going and how fast things are changing around us.

June goals:

workout: We did great going to barre classes twice a week. I still did cardio but some weeks it wasn't 5 days a week but that is okay.

Food Tracking: I failed at this so bad. New month which means I can start over right?

Morning pages: FAIL! I really need to get on this. I know it will make a big difference in me.

Date night: We did mange to do some dates. Granted we turned them into like running errands but hey a date is a date right?

Read: What is that?

Rest of July goals

Workout: Continue working out. I recently took up boot camp classes too. I also want to get back to running at least 3x a week. I am trying to stay away from HIIT to lean myself out not to build bulk.

Food planning: I am going to switch up my food tracking with food planning. I think if I plan my food out for the entire week than I might have a better chance of food tracking and eating cleaner.

Date night: I really need these in my life. I miss our sunday fundays. I would even take watching a movie.

Read and write: I need to do both these next two weeks to see how much of an impact they will have on my life. I am currently reading a new workout book that will hopefully help with my journey.

So at the end of the day, July goals are the same as my June goals. I just want them all to be green and to lose some weight.

6.04.2014

A Look Back

Is it me or does time just fly by? How is it that we are already in June?

May was a good stepping stone for me. I am finally thinking I am figuring out what is working for me and what is not going to work for me.

May Goals

Food Plan: The food planning was a hit or miss. For a few days I did really well than I would fall off the wagon. I really failed at tracking my food and or writing it down which is my biggest struggle.

Working out: I did amazing with this. I reached my 10 days going to the gym doing 30 minutes of cardio. I also PR'd a few times and even managed to run a mile for the first time in 8 years. You can follow along in the journey here and here

Work: This was okay. I wasn't nearly as stressed as I usual am during the end of the month so I must of done something right. Also, I think with working out is helping me with it. This is always a work in progress though.

Water: I did amazing with this. Actually I was told I drink too much water so I am trying to cut back but it is extremely hard when I am thirsty all the time.

Date night with the hubby: Let's just say it really didn't happen but we did mange to run errands one day together. Just the two of us which I think is needed more often than not.

Now onto June Goals

Work out: I want to continue with my cardio and sister and I just fell in love with Pure Barr classes.

Food tracking: Since I got the planning part done okay, I want to track my food better so I can take it to my nutritionist and make sure it's what she's asking of us.

Morning Pages:Make sure I do them every morning but I will have to explain at a later date.

Date night: Now that things are going to change rapidly I think this is much more needed. I am hoping maybe 2 or 3 date nights this month.

Read: I have two books I want to read plus another one I need to get. I need to make reading more of a propriety

What are your goals for June?
