Vibe Attracts Your Tribe

Anyone still out there??

I ran across this quote on pinterest and it just spoke to me.

The last few weeks I have really been looking at life differently. I have this huge interest in self motivation books and bettering myself. A lot of them address the issue of the circle of friends and even family members you hang around. Do your goals align with those around you?  I love that they make you start thinking and the wheels start turning to improve your life.

This year I turn 27 and it has me thinking about all relationships in my life. I really have no time for negative people, people who bring others down, and just the selfishness of people who expect the world to do stuff for them. One of my pet peeves is people who think the world owes them something and people who aren't willing to work hard for what they want.

"Never hope for it more than you're willing to work for it"

Lately I have been more aware of who I want to surround myself with. They need to be positive, encouraging and motivating people. I want to spend everyone's including myself time wisely. I have goals and dreams to achieve, and I am going to achieve them. I know negative people won't bring me any help in achieving those goals in my future.

I want to encourage all of you to take a look at the relationships in your life and your surroundings and cut out all the negative people and environments. It might seem a bit rough to do at first, but remember you're doing this to push yourself further into a happier place.

Remember to bring positive vibes and you will attract a positive tribe!

Happy Thursday ya'll!

TEAM WAFFLE || Low Carb Recipe

Good Morning ya'll! I know I said I was going to share this on Waffle Wednesday but I got super busy from the moment I was awake to the moment I went to sleep.

This coming weekend is a special one for me and it's taking a lot of pre-work to get it all together. (More on it next week)

I have been posting my waffles over on instagram and lately a lot of people have been asking me how I make them and how I keep my carb count so low in them.

I am here to share my secrets with you just in case you missed it on insta.

Ingredients

  • 1 whole egg
  • 1 scoop of protein (Depending how I am feeling that day depends on which protein I use, mainly my go to for low carb is PE Science Snickerdoodle. I have Vanilla, Reese Peanut butter & Cookies & cream coming today, I will get back to you on those)
  • 1/4 cup of unsweetened almond and or cashew milk
  • 20-25g of kodiak cake mix (lately it's been the peanut butter crunch, you probably can skip this step and really keep the carbs low)
  • dash of baking powder
  • dash of vanilla
Directions:

Warm up the waffle maker (this is key) Mix all the ingredients together. Spray waffle maker with cooking spray (I use coconut oil spray from Trader Joe's) and cook like a normal waffle.

Sometimes I keep it a little longer since I like the brown and crunchy to it.

My mix usually makes two (a small one and a larger one. I have not perfected the making yet)

Top with whatever you like!

I usually top mine with Walden Farms syrup (I have all 3 flavors, strawberry, blueberry and regular & I have the caramel sauce in the bottle that looks like the syrup) Than if I am feeling frisky, I top with truwhip and enjoy!

I am totally Team Waffle! Are you Team Waffle or Team Pancake?

Some Quick Life Updates

Picture overload.. Some of them are super random & really have no reason to be on here besides I do what I want..

hey look Liberty photobomb me... silly kitty (It'll be 15 years since I've had her.. crazy)

Crazy to think we're already in May of 2016? Where did the first 4 months of the year go? I swear it was just New Years and I was talking about my word being fierce since I suck at making goals.

Here are some life updates:

++ Well, with that said, if you've been following me along on instagram, you know I've been on this fitness journey. I can proudly say I have lost 12 pounds and have kept it off.

Thursday after upper day // if you are in San Diego & looking for an awesome gym and or want an online coach, let me know! My coach is amazing and he does both online and personal training plus we have an amazing gym.

++Hubby has been gone now 2 months, well a little over, honestly I have no idea exactly how long. We still have some time too until he's back home but we're surviving one day at a time.

++ Work is work. I am still wanting to quit the preschool but it's so hard when it's your aunt but I have some serious baby fever and I know when I get prego I will quit, so maybe Baby G will be joining us sooner than later.

++Gym life is great! I am loving all my workouts and even thinking of doing some more at home. I mean I own everything but a squat rack currently so why not try it out at home too?

I did participate in a virtual run & can't wait to do the run for the Heros

++ I am totally team Waffle lately, just check the instagram. I am also learning snap chat (j3ss1ca13) add me there!
I went to Sushi with the girl I used to workout with. I sure miss her in the gym and our chatty times but I am so thankful we can still meet outside the gym and have grown such an amazing friendship.

my dinner cheats

I hardly ever drink anymore, but I will say this stuff is pretty dang amazing!

and every now and than I just crave a Dr. Pepper from the fountain and because macros are life, I get a Diet Dr. Pepper from McDonald's for 96 cents!

Lastly, my new favorite energy drink. It's pretty amazing and it's champagne flavor. #winning

Really, nothing much has been going on, just day to day stuff. Work, gym, sleep, repeat. Since it's May, I am going to try to get back into blogging. Also, add me on instagram & snap!

Make sure to come back Wednesday, I am planning on sharing my amazing #teamwaffle recipe and I promise ANYONE can make them!

Happy Monday Ya'll!

Anyone Out There Still?

Hey this little space of mine
I sure do miss it. I miss writing and more. I am hoping to return but I think I need a revamp on the site first. Any suggestions on what to do?  I don't want to spend a ton of money but I am not against spending a little something to make it mine. I am also thinking of something with Pineapples or anchors.

A lot has been going on in the last few months. I am hoping to share it all with you in a life update post plus change up my about me page. As always, make sure to follow along on instagram, I am learning snapchat. I have even pondered Periscope. Any scopers out there?  Let me know so I can follow along.

As always Happy Hump Day ya'll!

Hello March - I have BIG plans for you!

Can we take a moment to realize we are in March now? This year is just flying by but I am perfectly okay with that.

March ❥:

Looking back at February, I am so glad I kept my goals simple.

  • Make sure to put Christmas Decor away
  • Continue Meal Planning
  • Write two blog post a week
  • Spend as much time with Hubby as possible
I would say 3/4 was a success. I did not write my blog post as it was a crazy month and as usual blogging got kicked to the curb.

Now that we are in March, I have different plans.

I want to get back into blogging more frequently (just not sure exactly about what yet) - I want to share my fitness journey with all of you - also I have all this extra free time now that it's just me.

March Goals

  • Clean the cabinet (that one dreaded cabinet) out in the Kitchen
  • Start/Read See Me by Nicholas Sparks
  • Go Through the Papers on my Desk
  • Share my Fitness journey/Goals
  • Deep Clean two rooms in the house
Nothing too crazy as usual just trying to adjust back to life.

What are your goals for March?

Are You Ready For March?

Hey Ya'll! Is anyone still out there reading this?

I know I suck. I wouldn't say I have been ridiculous, just been ridiculously busy between working two job, gym, vacation, putting the dog down, and hubby deploying, plus so much more it's been a whirlwind.

But it's the last day of the month & it's Leap Year! I am so excited to see February is over & to start March fresh. Lots of things have changed this month and I am ready to start a 100 day challenge I will be sharing with ya'll! I also have other goals and dreams for this blog in the next few months, and so much more!

Are you ready for March? I know I am beyond ready!

Life Lately + Giveaway

Hey ya'll!
I am just stopping in to share some of my life lately with you. It's been crazy. This month honestly has been the crappiest month for me and I am ready for it to be over.

Before it's over though, I am leaving on vacation with my Sister and Mom on Monday for the entire week. I am ready to check out of reality for a bit to refocus on life.

First: Many of you have asked me about my cup my sister has made me for Christmas. She decided to do a giveaway on instagram. **Rules: Follow Her // Follow me // Tag 3 friends on 1 of our insta pictures** You get to decide on what you want the mug to say (this is just for pictures)

Second: This boy! He's been such a sweetheart. He just wants to lay around and be lazy. I think he knows Daddy is leaving.

Three: I am still hitting the gym and hanging with my trainer. I am getting stronger I can tell since we started writing my workouts down. I am so ready for March to be here and start to really focus in on my nutrition & cardio. I will be sharing the journey with you along the way.

Four: My animals. They are all so loving and so sweet. Make sure to follow along on insta too to see some of my favorite pictures of them. I am planning on doing a post all about them and introducing you to them.

This old man is turning 15 next month. He's the 2nd dog I ever had and I am so thankful he's been there for a lot of my life and experienced a lot of it. He's truly taught me a lot more than he'll ever know.

Five: Hubby & I have been trying to hang out and do little things lately as he won't be here for much longer to do them with me. I am sure going to miss this face!

Valentine's Day: I made hubby protein packed pancakes. They were delicious. I did not track the macros as I have been super lax on them but I promise next time, I will for sure track them to share.

My bear for V-day from the hubby.

There you have it lately. Life has been crazy. We're all getting ready to readjust to life. I am working a ton. March will be strike 3 to get it all together. Third times a charm right? Super excited, I am so planning on giving Wifesticated a face lift and really focus back into blogging about my fitness journey and more. Make sure to follow along on insta for the giveaway and the fun pictures of next week!

Saddest Post Ever - R.I.P Bandito

Happy President's Day!
I hope you get the day off & enjoy it

I am just popping in to say Thank you for the sweet comments about my dog on here  but with the saddest of hearts, I had to put him down Saturday night right in the middle of making Valentine's Day dinner. It sucked, it's hard, and I miss him more!

He was a fighter. He had cancer back in May and we had it removed to confirm it was truly cancer. The vet told me it would come back because it had spread throughout and she couldn't get it all. It was just a matter of when. I told myself, if he lives until October than it was all worth it. I was actually nervous leaving him for a week because normally he wouldn't eat or anything. He survived. We had fun. He went on lots of car rides, lots of treats and lots of love.

Sadly, his cancer came back. He was all bruised from it, he wouldn't lay down anymore, he stopped eating and barking and I was feeling horrible for keeping him alive because I wanted him.

He crossed the Rainbow bridge Saturday night & I know he's up there with my cat Tiger and other dog we put down in 2007, Bj. Give lots of love to them Bandito, I am sure going to miss you lots!

What A Crazy Weekend

Here we are again, almost half way through the month. I swear I just wrote out my goals for the month and here I am making sure I follow through with them.

Let's take a look back at the week.

This guy is going downhill FAST. Sadly his cancer came back. This time it's much worse and I am just trying to make him comfortable until I know the time is right for him. I sure will miss this face and the love he has for me. I will give it to him though, he's 12!

Friday night started out the weekend of parties for us. Hubby passed his test that he was stressing over and his friends from work was having a bash downtown to celebrate.

Let's just say we were home and in bed by 11pm.

Saturday I had planned way before I knew about downtown. We were schedule for a brewery tour and dinner after to celebrate his 26th birthday with his best friend and his wife.

Sunday: The day of recovery and a sad day for the Panthers. I struck gold with the cauliflower rice from Trader Joes and believe I bought 10 bags and already had 4 in the freezer. I love this stuff!

Superbowl, I was rooting for the Panthers. I was super bummed that they fell short. The team just wasn't there, they weren't themselves. None the less though Keep Pounding! As far as next season, I pray Eric Weddle goes to a team that will destroy the Chargers. I have lost a lot of love I had for them after what they did to him.

Than Monday was Hubby's Birthday. And we are back into the full swing of things. Lots of work and getting ready for a busy end of the month!

How was your weekend?

Happy Hump Day!

Friday Letters V.3

Dear Hubby, I know you look forward to these letters every Friday. Let me just say, I am so frickin' proud of you for passing this class. Well the test you passed yesterday, now everything is uphill from here. I love you lots!

So if all you lovely readers can hang out until than I promise I will return. I am even trying to make a editorial calendar.

Dear Readers, Thank you for the sweet comments on the last blog post. It truly makes me happy. The no-reply bloggers though make me sad because I can't respond. Also, my review of HSN is coming and my 24 day challenge review is coming!

Dear Cruise, You are so close! I am excited to see my Sister & Mom. It'll be very interesting!!

That's all I have for ya'll today!

February Goals

Who used January as a warm up/trial month? January just slipped away from me and honestly I wouldn't even know what my goals were if I didn't write them down here. Looking back at them, just WOW!

Looking back at January Goals: All of my goals were a fail besides Monthly meal planning and starting the 24 day cleanse.

Planning for February: This is a month of lots of changes happening for me

February Goals

  • Make sure to put Christmas Decor away: I have it all boxed up but just haven't actually put the boxes away. I know it's so simple just haven't done it.

  • Continue meal planning: I am loving the fact of meal planning and not having to guess what's for dinner.

  • Write two blog post a week: I am going to try to write twice a week, if I write more great but I am shooting for twice and I already have some great ideas in mind. (my HSN and my 24 day challenge experience)

  • Spend as much time with the hubby as possible: Work is taking him again so it's important we spend time together and making those memories.
I am keeping February short and simple this month to hopefully get back into the grove and actually remember my goals. Let's do this!

What are your February Goals?

Weekend Recap V.4

We meet again new week.

A very busy week at that for me. It's end of the month which means, closing the month out. In English terms, I won't have a life again until next Monday when the end of the month report is finished. Anyone else experience this at any point in the month?

The weekend was a great weekend spent at home. I literally haven't moved my car since I parked it Friday night.

Friday: I was up early to finally match my eyebrows. I hate when I get to the point of them growing out so bad that they don't match. Luckily European wax center saved me again. If you've never been to one, I highly suggest it.

I also found out my top has pockets, what a great Friday!

Top & Jeans from Ollie Marie

Later that afternoon a friend of mine invited me to workout with her at Planet Fitness. I was a kid in a candy store to get a second leg day this week.

I was a bit disappointed though when she told me she didn't want lean muscle, that she was more focused on the scale moving. That scale is EVIL! Gimme all the muscles vs scale moving! She also mentioned how all she wanted to do was ab workouts. I tried to explain to her that abs are truly made in the kitchen and almost every movement we did engaged her core. I was also not offered pizza or bagels but there was tootsie rolls on the counter. Planet fitness had way more cardio machines than weights and no squat racks, let's just say I will not be getting a membership to here. Otherwise, I was impressed with how clean it was though. Friday afternoon wasn't too crowded either which I liked. It's truly not a bad gym just not my gym

Friday night hubby and I went to chick Fil A for dinner and grocery shopping.

Saturday: I worked all day. You know the joys of working from home, you get to design your own schedule and or when you have lots to do you do it on weekends.

The boys dug up the yard to prepare for rain.

I did mange to write up Friday Letters & wrote my book review if anyone is interested in having it. I will mail it to you for free.

Sunday: I was up early and got a quick little arm workout in. I also finally opened up my beats. Why didn't I open them sooner? They are amazing!

I struggle with writing my own workout plans but one day I will get it. I also need to invest in a 35 pound dumbbell sooner than later.

After my workout it was protein pancakes for the win.

417 calories // 39 carbs // 8 fat// 47 protein

Than it was typical sunday stuff of laundry, cleaning and watching football.

Hope ya'll had a great weekend & even better start to the new week!

Friday Letters On Saturday V.2

Dear Friday Letters, Life got crazy yesterday so I am doing you on Saturday this week. It's always better late than never right?

Dear Work, Why do I have SO much of you? I am working all day today too to try to catch up before end of the month next week. WHAT IT'S ALREADY END OF JANUARY??

Dear Hubby, The countdown is on and it makes me sad but I know we'll survive, won't we? I love you lots even though you like to be all chipper in the morning and try to bug. I suppose that is why I married you, or maybe it wasn't - either way, we're here!

Dear Workout, I get so excited. I really want to be able to do it more often but I know life happens and it sucks but hey one day I will get better with time management and not having a life that is a mess. #refusetogrowup

Dear Friend's wedding, You are a NIGHTMARE! I can't believe everything that I must do for you and the amount of money that is being spent for this. Really I rather go on vacation but hey, at least it'll be fun right?

Dear Food, This week we've been friends and I am so excited we finally made a good relationship. I have been pretty good at sticking to my food and not getting too crazy.

Dear Google Chrome, I am not sure what I did to you or what in the world happened but you have not been the same since. Please fix yourself because it is really annoying. I am ready to get a new computer too but I don't want to lose all my stuff on this computer! #firstworldproblems

Dear Instagram, I am loving how much you have grown lately. I am trying really hard to grow you and I couldn't be more thankful for it. Please follow along in the journey of life on there.

Dear Weekend, Let's do this!
