I Am Fearless

As I sit here to write, I started to wonder when have I been fearless. To be honest, I think my whole life has been fearless but lately the one that sticks out the most to me is my new fitness journey

Now, I don't have a crazy story of it. I didn't lose 50lbs like Ms. Liz did! Which I am extremely proud of her hard work. All I started doing was moving.

I would say my journey began last summer. I stepped on the scale and realized I gained 15 pounds from my honeymoon cruise. I immediately started browsing on how to lose those 15 pounds. I came across beach body.

Beach body sounded amazing. You pick a program, do the workouts, eat a shake, and boom you lose weight. At least that's what I thought, but it didn't work like that. I did ChaLean Extreme during the summer. It worked but the scale didn't move. I was extremely upset. I was mad at myself. I turned to food. I turned to everything else but myself.

October came and we went on our amazing anniversary/birthday cruise. I gained another 15 pounds. At first I just thought it was because of drinking and I would lose the weight once I stopped and started to drink water. Nope. My body hates me and didn't work like that.

Now I sit 30 pounds heavier. The heaviest I have ever been in my entire life and it makes me extremely depressed. I have no one to blame. I have no one who can lose it for me. I need to do this for myself. I need to stop being fearful and step outside of my circle.

This brings me to current, now I am meeting with a nutritionist and learning so much. I started barre classes and running. Running has become my new therapy. I try to run at least 2 miles a day Monday -Friday. Next thing, I am going to really take a look at my food. As they say, "you can't workout a bad diet"

I am going to be fearless to lose this weight. Fearless to find myself. Fearless to find happiness again. Fearless in doing more things for myself. Fearless to share the entire process with all of you in hopes of inspiring just one person just as Liz inspired me to get moving again.

Next time we take family photos, I want to be able to notice the difference in the above photos and the new ones.

How are you being fearless?

Help Spread the Word!

Do you know my Friend Danielle over at Secrets of a Sweet Southern Girl?
If not, GO SAY HELLO!!!
I am here to help spread the word for Denim Day..
Please join in on this day!

Now onto Danielle to Explain more about this!
******************************************************

April is Sexual Assault Awareness month, and I work for a non-profit as a Sexual Assault Victim Advocate. I posted a few weeks ago about the Rock the Denim Campaign that my agency is doing along with two other area non-profits. I want to encourage you to participate in Denim Day!

What is Denim Day?

In 1999 an Italian Supreme Court overturned the conviction of a 45 year old driving instructor for the rape of his 18 year old student. The reason cited was the girl’s clothing. It was determined that because she wore blue jeans the instructor could not have removed them without assistance, therefore she must have consented. People everywhere were outraged and within hours prominent women within the legal community were walking the courthouse in blue jeans to protest the decision. Since that time Denim Day in LA and the USA was born. Peace Over Violence, the agency behind Denim Day, centers this campaign around the fact that a woman’s choice of clothing is no excuse for rape.

How do you participate?

Easy Peasy. Wear Blue Jeans on April 24th and talk to people about the spirit of Denim Day! I'm asking bloggers to take a picture of themselves wearing blue jeans and post about Sexual Assault Awareness on April 24th. Display the button in your post and link-up to show support! How awesome would it be if the blogosphere went red on April 24th?

I would love for you to share this with your readers and spread the word before the 24th so that we have as many people as possible linking up!

Confession..Why I blog

If you have not heard of Becky who writes From Mrs. To Mama you need to check her out..She is doing this awesome link up for women to connect {it opened Monday}.. connect on why we write .. sounds easy? Just write your feelings out & post & link up..
well so I thought easy..

As I was working on my catch up day & reading through blogs as usual, her post got my brain thinking..more than usual..I started to think what I was writing for? What I was doing in this blogland? What were all my intentions of just writing? Why I keep writing?

I opened up a blank new post & nothing came to me.. I stared at a blank screen for awhile thinking WHY?

After all I have no crazy stories, I am struggling every day with weight loss and self image, I am trying to raise a 5 year old little boy as best as possible, recently married yet haven't recapped the wedding yet {It's been 4 months}, working on my marriage every single day, I have all these ideas of what to blog about yet I hardly get around to it because I am super busy with life & I enjoy my sleep. Matter of fact, I am truly not even that crafty or anything. I doidolize so many other bigger bloggers & think why can't I write like that..

Than it hit me like an train at high speed..

I write this blog for ME

No I don't have 120873495 followers, while yes I would love a ton of followers but I would rather a few who truly follow along in my journey. No I don't get comments on all my post even though when I do I try to respond. No I don't get to do product reviews from top name companies as much as I would love to do some, No I don't even really do giveaways because that's not what my life is about even though I love helping others, I don't even write in correct English because that is just how I am!

I remember when I started this blog in October 2011, I told myself I wanted to remember my steps of planning my wedding & blogging just seemed the natural way to do that. I could always come back to it to reflect. I was finishing my last semester of college & I remember thinking this is going to take so much of my time that I should be using to focus on school. I took it one day at a time, little by little. And Soon that changed into more than just wedding blogging, but personal life, graduating college, extending the family, and so much more. I have shaped this blog into something that I can reflect on and cherish those memories.

While, Yes I would love to be that funny, smart, witted, awesome blogger than so many of you will want to read EVERY day & look forward to new post, but at the end of the day that just isn't me. I am writing this journey for myself and just hoping & praying that you all follow along in it. That somewhere I can connect with a woman & we can have those blog bff moments & support each other through anything & just possible our husbands & children will be friends as well. I write because sometimes I need your encouragement to keep moving forward {such as weight loss} Sometimes I just need a simple hello to know that some one out there is reading & caring.. I write for one day maybe someone will read my story & know they can make it through whatever they are facing as well.

I write for myself

Now that I have faced my fear and I have let it all out, I am going to keep doing what I do. I am going to keep writing for myself and my life. I am going to write from my heart. I am going to keep putting myself out there for if I touch one person's life than I did something big in this world!

Happy Wednesday

Not only are we SIX days away from Christmas but the little twin of mine is flying in for a fun filled two weeks. We finally are able to spend a Christmas & New Years together in years. I am super excited about this if you haven't noticed.

Also, tomorrow is Eli's 5th birthday..
What are we doing you ask to make this so special?

1. Cynthia is a surprise to him
2. We are spending the day at Disneyland
3. He is getting spoiled with presents

This is special day because it is Eli's first time to Disneyland and he has worked so hard at school being good and staying out of trouble to be able to go.

The inspiration for some pinterest love is coming from Disneyland..

I promise to take my own photos of us throughout the day. They won't be this good but it will be of Eli and his smiling face.
