Friday Letters

Dear Friday, Why do you feel like it took forever for you to show up? Wasn't this weekend suppose to be shorter than normal? Well, either way I am glad you are here because I am exhausted this week.

Dear Hubby, I would love to go hiking soon. I hope we can find some time together too. Thank you for everything you do and working so hard. I love you very much!

Dear Workouts, So far this week I have at least been on the tread mill for 30 minutes or with my trainer, I am feeling awesome about that. Now to get my macros on point. After watching Fed Up I really need to cut down on sugar intake.

Dear Printer for Work, You finally did it. You kicked the bucket. The bad part is that I have so much work to do still and I really don't have time to wait until next Friday to print it all. I hope we can figure something out until we get a new one.

Dear House, Please clean yourself.

Dear Readers, Thank you for all the sweet comments this week. I am going to try to change over to disqus comments once I figure it out. I really hate not being able to reply to everyone and the no reply blogger. Hopefully this will help with all that.

Hope ya'll have a great weekend!

Easy Breakfast Egg Muffins

If you should know anything about me, it's that I am not a morning person at all. My husband on the other hand, he is one alarm at 4am and he can jump out of bed. Me, I have to set like 3 alarms, snooze at least 5 times and than maybe I will think about rolling out of bed.

Now this doesn't work if I need to be at work at 7am which means I have to leave the house by 630. Also, I need to get my workout in on these days so 4am wake up call it was.

After failing to wake up at 4am to workout, than make breakfast, shower, get ready and leave by 630 for work I had to rethink some things in the morning.

Insert, breakfast muffins.

I make them on Sundays and they last all week for me to just pop in the mircowave on the way out the door or when I get to work.

What you need:

-double muffin tins
-eggs
-egg whites
-bacon // I used the jalapeno bacon from Costco
-whatever veggies you want// I use green onion
-you can add lots of other things in here such as cheese, pepper, mushrooms, basically anything you would add to any of your eggs

Directions:
Since I am macros counting everything is weight out separately for each muffin.

1. Cook bacon first as you normally would.
2. After cooking bacon, mix 1 whole egg with 100g of egg whites
3. Cut up 1 slice of bacon
4. 10grams of green onions
5. Pour mixture into one cup of the muffin pan
6. repeat until all muffins are filled

Cooking directions:

-Preheat oven to 400
-spray muffin pan so the egg mixture doesn't stick
-Bake egg mixture for about 35 minutes or until golden
-let them completely cool
-When ready to eat just pop in mircowave until warm (about 30 seconds) and eat with your favorite hot sauce if you want.

Enjoy your breakfast muffins!

Fed Up

I failed miserable to take pictures this weekend but we did mange to watch Fed Up on NetFlix and now I am second guessing everything I put into my mouth.

I don't think it's a secret that obesity is a huge problem in the United States, but I think we are blaming the wrong people. Well putting all the blame on the obese and not truly understanding where to point fingers.

Before watching this, I will admit I ate a lot of Mexican food and still wanted my ice cream which was not the best decision because it just made me feel even more sick while watching this documentary. I am disgusted with the food industry. I also thought obese children and adults should just workout more and watch their calories. I was so dumb and naive until this past weekend.

It's simple to lose weight right, calories in vs calories out. sadly, that is just the beginning of losing weight.

Working out, moving more and calories in vs calories out is just the beginning, it's where all doctors will start when you tell them you want to lose weight..

Sugar.. Sugar is the other side of this ugly truth that no one mentions.

This documentary follows obese teens who are on a mission to lose weight. They are eating all the healthy foods, low fat foods, serving sizes and moving. One girl even swims four days a week. The problem is they are not getting smaller, sadly their waist keeps getting larger and larger.

Who do we blame for this? The food industry. They removed the fats from foods and because of the taste and scared people wouldn't eat it, they added tons of sugar to it. The average american ate almost 17 teaspoons of sugar a day in 2008. We are only recommended 6-9 teaspoons a day. Think about that for a moment.

The documentary also hits home when they mention this generation of children are the first generation who will not out live their parents. With so many medical improvements each year, this is hard. Parent's aren't suppose to bury their children, their children are suppose to bury their parents.

With all that being said and watching this documentary, I am going to work harder on what I eat each day and my workouts. Since I watched the movie on Sunday, my eats have been pretty on point. You can follow along in my journey here or instagram

If you haven't watched Fed Up yet, I suggest you do. I promise you will think twice before picking up that soda and or candy bar. Also, you might even start reading food labels.

Friday Letters

Dear Weekend, as I always say, thank you for showing up. I am probably more thankful than normal as this week was very rough. I am excited to clean the house, do some laundry and spend time with the hubby.

Dear Sickness, Please go away for good. Ever since Tuesday night/Wednesday morning when you hit me hard in the face I haven't felt myself. I even had to cancel my gym session because I just wasn't feeling it.

Dear Hubby, I am super proud of you for making your 10 jumps and earning your gold wings. I know this was a big step for you and even bigger stepping stone for your career.

Dear Bloggy Group, I love the way you are growing. You are bringing together so many wonderful ladies in this community and helping us all grow and make new friends.

Dear Rain, Where do I sign up for the continue rain on Fridays?  I am loving it. I wish our weather will stay like this for a long time. San Diego needs the rain so badly. I would love to see the lakes filled back up and everything turn to green.

Dear Workouts, I am sorry I missed yesterday. I was really looking forward to it but just couldn't bring myself to it after feeling like crap. I am praying to relax this weekend and get back to ya strong on Monday.

Dear Bruce Jenner, I watched the show with the Kardashians and I have way more respect for you. I love how open and honest you are with this journey. I love how the girls all opened up about their raw feelings

Dear Readers, Thank you for the sweet comments this week. I am working on figuring out disqus comments so I can respond to everyone. Would anyone be interested in making Friday Letters a link-up? Also, I am still offering free sponsor on my side bar. Please submit your ad and we can work together.

Have a great weekend ya'll!

Where I have Been All Weekend

Here I am.. I promise I didn't leave you just things around my house got a bit crazy over the weekend but none the less here I am to share it all with you.

Friday: I took the Bandit to go pick up E. You notice how small he got? plus can you tell he loves selfies? I know I need a car wash too.

Friday my brother flew in from Sacramento because our good friend Clayton came home for the first time since 2013. It was good to see them all. So we all went out to the casino and I lost all $27 hubby gave me to play. (I need I need to clean my phone camera)

not to forget, it was the first time in a long time I stayed up past 9pm on a Friday night. Than in turn means I slept in on Saturday and missed the time to take the fur babies to get rabies shots.

Saturday: Sister took her car into get an oil change and looked at since she bought it from Car Max. We found out her ac unit went out so they have to order in a new one. Can't live in San Diego with no AC. E man had his last game and we did the baseball party.

Proud mama of an All-Star member too. E made all-stars for the first time and can't wait to watch him play in that game.

Saturday night: My friend/ gym buddy Nicole had her graduation party. She graduated college and I couldn't be more proud of everything she has done in the short amount of time I have known her. So we wen celebrated with her.

Jack Daniels shots and Vodka soda drinks

The four of us. Emily (nicole's bff & another gym buddy), Me, Nicole and my sister Cynthia

After dinner with the girls we went by Clayton's house to celebrate him being home. He has done a tour over seas and this is the first time home since 2013. I love watching how much he has grown up and changed for the better.

We also brought the boys home and they were drunk and hungry apparently. They shared a plate of food together with Cali.

G apparently had a rough Saturday night too.

Sunday: Sister and I had massages scheduled and my shoulders are super knotted. I can't wait to go back. Than we went to lunch with my aunt and grocery shopping. Than it was time to start the week all over again.

Monday: It was my dad's birthday and we had a surprise dinner at a sushi restaurant. Brother flew home late so I was the lucky one to take him to the airport.

How was your weekend?

Friday Letters

Dear Victoria Secret, I am so excited you finally got a multi - way t-shirt bra but the flip side - you don't send it to all the stores. No stores in San Diego has it because they don't have enough volume. I almost flipped on the lady in VS - how stupid can this be?

Dear Hubby, Thank you for listening to me this week. I hope this weekend we can relax and enjoy some down time as we've both been on the go since last Sunday. It really does mean a lot. I love you much.

Dear San Diego Rain, Who ever did the rain dance, THANK YOU! We are having this amazing winter storm and I am so excited for some rain.

Dear Workouts, I am so glad we reunited this week. I am dying though. I am still extremely sore from Monday.

Dear Sister, We have 28 days until we're in Vegas soaking up the sun and wishing you the best 21st ever! Let's make these days count.

Dear Self, Stop beating yourself up. I promise you'll be okay and you'll reach your goals. No one else matters besides what you think of yourself. Eat Right, Exercise every day, Love yourself and smile.

Dear Readers, Thank you for all the sweet comments this week on my post. I know I missed yesterday but life happens and just couldn't get to it. I would love for all of you to be on my side bar so please submit your button. also, it's free who doesn't love that!

Hope ya'll have the best weekend!

May Goals

Wow! We're almost half way through May already.
Where does the time go?

Last month, I set some goals that I thought would be attainable. Let's see what I accomplished in April.

+Drink 80oz of water a day: I think I did really well with this. I drink lots of water. I kicked the dr. pepper habit for the most part until recently.

+Save money & pay off some more debt : I saved my part for reaching $5,000 by end of the year but that was it. As far as pay off some debt, I paid some off but I think I racked some up. oopps

+Workout 4x a week (anything at this point & 2 days is already covered by my trainer) : Epic fail! I only worked out really with my trainer.

+Menu plan for the entire month: Epic fail! We've only used our menu board once. I need to get one it again.

+Start & Complete the 10 day cleanse by advocare: I did it. I didn't stick to the strict food plan but I did lose some weight. I might try it again sooner than later. I did fall in love with spark though.

+Start & Read 1 book (preferably "It starts with food): I tried to read " It starts with food" but I just wasn't interested.

+Get a fitbit & use it daily! I love my garmin but I need a Heart rate monitor : LOVE MY FITBIT!!

+Keep up with cleaning the house // Deep clean 2 rooms : Epic fail. I just stopped cleaning all together. Oopps

Since I really didn't stick to my April goals. I am going to work harder these last few weeks of May to reach some goals

May goals:

+give up dr. pepper & drink more water

+workout 2x a week // not including my trainer

+clean the great room // dinning room

+eat healthier + eat more green veggies // stop eating out

+watch my spending - no more michael kors shopping sprees (save for Vegas & Mexico)

+grow my blog & think of ways to improve it. (input is always welcomed)

What goals do you have for May?

Weekend Fun: Anchors // Michael Kors

Hello Monday. A part of me is super excited you are here so I can get my life back in order after last week craziness.

Once again the weekend flew by. Shout out to all the mother's out there- Fur children and or human children. Hope you all had the best Mother's Day!

Thank you to all who are continuing to pray for my family. We really do appreciate it. Sadly, right now I can't say too much about the situation other than my family needs all the prayers we can get for the next couple of months. Thank you.

Friday: Lots of work (I am so behind - this week will be lots of catching up & staying up) // Running E man to his appointments // Got him a haircut and a successful lunch date just the two of us.  Hubby and I caught up on American Crime. I can't believe this week is the season finale already. We also decided to go to Cancun for our yearly trip. Can't wait to start planning it.

Saturday: We went down to have breakfast with my mom as they decided to fly back to Minnesota. (I need to get better at taking pictures). We came home. I took a nap and than went to meet my sister to get our nails done and mall. I just couldn't go another 4 weeks with them.

Sunday: Mother's Day - Hubby got me beautiful flowers // card// E got me magnet he made // a video he made// card. Hubby & I went grocery shopping as usual. I came home and took a nap. I think all this crappy food is making me more tired than usual - I never take naps during the day. So I am excited to get back to clean eating this week and working out. Than we realized we forgot eggs and egg whites so Sister and I headed back to Costco and the mall.

I managed to get some Mother's Day gifts from Michael Kors.

Than it was laundry and get ready for the week.

How was your weekend?

Dear Rain, Keep raining! I miss you and San Diego needs you!

Dear Readers, Thank you for stopping by this week  and leaving such sweet comments. So many though are no reply bloggers still and I couldn't write back.

Dear anyone who prays, My family could really use all the prayers in the world. Thank you in advance.

Dear Hubby, I love you. So happy we caught up on America Crime and got lots of cuddles in. I am excited to sleep in tomorrow. Sorry I have failed to make dinners this week - hopefully next week will be much better.

Dear workouts, This week wasn't the best. Sorry about that. I am hoping next week is better when things settle down and hopefully prayers are answered.

Dear Self, Just breathe. You can pray but in the end you can't control what is happening so stop stressing out and stop beating yourself up. Just remember to only try to handle the things you can change and let the other things happen.

Thank you for the sweet comments this week.

The Beating Heard Around The World

I wasn't going to write about the Baltimore situation because we are all entitled to our own opinion. I also didn't want to be that "blogger", I know you know what I mean. With that said, here I am writing about that situation.

As I was sitting at my computer on Friday doing work, I ran across an article stating that Child Protective Services (CPS) will launch a case against the Mother, Toya Graham, who is now known as "Mother of the Year" for "beating" her son who was participating in the riots. If you haven't seen the video, please watch.  What's my problem with this?

I have lots of problems with this

She truly wasn't "beating" her son. She was smacking her son on the head to make her point known that this was not okay for him. I firmly believe she did no harm to this child.

The son is 16 years old! Do you really think his mom is sitting at home each day beating him or any of his sisters? If that was the case, I highly doubt he would of been on the streets to begin with in the riots. It was just by luck that this mom was in the same place as her son. Also, he knew it was wrong which was why he was trying to hide under a mask.

If you watch the interview with Toya, she said she has 6 kids. This is her ONLY son and she is a single mother. She is trying to teach her kids to work hard and respect the law. She was truly embarrassed that her son would react like this because he wanted to be apart of the "in" crowd.

CPS really needs to take a step back out of parenting and worry more about the mom's/parents on welfare/ financial aid doing drugs/selling drugs/drinking excessively with their kids around or doing other harmful things. CPS needs to worry about the kids who are going hungry for days, missing school, have no clean clothes, or no shoes and or other worries that truly put the kids in harm.

I couldn't of said it better Mr. Anthony Batts:
Baltimore Police Commissioner Anthony Batts brought it up in an overnight news conference. Batts told reporters: “And if you saw in one scene, you had a mother who grabbed their child who had a hood on his head and she started smacking him on the head because she was so embarrassed. I wish I had more parents who took charge of their kids tonight. I think these were youth coming out of the high school and they thought it was cute to throw cinder blocks at the police department and address it that way.”

If this world would let parents be parents than maybe this generation of kids wouldn't be so horrible.  Is it me or are they just acting nuts? Maybe we all could go out to dinner one night and not have to listen to a 5 year old scream at his mother because it wasn't the restaurant he wanted or he didn't get exactly what he ordered. It's true, I have heard it before.

We wouldn't have the teachers going crazy and more high school graduates would want to become teachers, but I don't blame them. Who wants to deal with a mess of children when the parents are of no help because they are scared CPS will show up and decide to file charges? Did you know that most CPS cases are filed through a teacher?

I can remember vividly getting spanked as a kid for doing things my parents told me not to do. By no means did my parents "beat" me. My parents also never threatened me with something their wouldn't follow through with if I did do it. I didn't die, I didn't break any bones, I probably deserved it. I grew up though and couldn't be more thankful to my parents for teaching me respect and manners.

In the end, CPS needs to take a step back and let parents parent their children.

What are your thoughts on this? Should CPS file charges against Toya or has CPS gone too far?
