Spring Lovin' From Minted.Com

Thank you to everyone who linked-up with Jasmine and I yesterday for our very first Meet & Greet Blog Hop!!

With spring in the air, there always comes love right?

Well,I am loving this one stop shop with Minted. They have everything you can think of, wedding invites, fabric, home decor, prints and much more.  With my sister's wedding in the works and by works I mean we are at the very beginning stages of planning. I love how Minted has introduced a simple yet beautiful wedding invitation line

I am already planning on order this FREE wedding sample kit so we can actually see her colors put together off a computer screen. You know she has her entire wedding already planned on pinterest.

Can't wait to really start to see her wedding come together with all these fresh ideas. Of course I needed a new notebook to keep all these ideas on so why not order one from Minted. I love baseball and with spring here and baseball season starting I fell in love

also, I found lots more that I would love to have in my home from arts to notebooks. I could shop all day on there site.  Who doesn't love spending a Thursday shopping?

So tell me what would you get from Minted?

*pictures are from Minted.Com and all wording is formed by my own opinion*

Dear Bar Tender

Dear Bar Tenders at MoonShine Flatts, San Diego,

I recently was in your bar and thought it was a San Diego country bar to it's finest right in the heart of Gas Lamp. Some of the traffic through there was interesting to say the least, but I don't judge on what people want to wear out.

I, however, will judge on your service. Now that I am a bit more wiser with my tipping, experience in bar hopping and what I expect as a person who is willing to spend my hard earned money there. Now, with all that said, the service from all of you was well below what I expected, it was downright awful. For the sake of country, it's a country bar. The least you could do is wear a smile and laugh a little. I understand bar tending is stressful but doesn't mean you should take it out on your customers who are there to have a good time.

Next, just because you are a male bar tender and you want a tip, I suggest you not skimp out or be rude to the males buying alcoholic drinks either for themselves or they could be buying it for the ladies you wanted to help. The same goes to ladies wanting to pour a drink for only males.

Also, when the driver ask for a glass of water, maybe a straw with that drink would be helpful. When was the last time you drank out of a glass without a straw while you were out? I understand you rather pour a drink because you think it'll make you more money than water, but did it ever cross your mind that I could be the wife of one of the men in here that could leave you a tip. If you take care of me, I promise you we'll take care of you.

Before you go off the deep end, when we order a fire ball shot, I suggest you give me fireball! I didn't ask for the knock off or the "well" drink, I thought I spoke clearly when I said fireball shot please. I would gladly pay the $14 for real fireball, not for the knock off.

Now, if you forget about the service, overall it's a fun place to be. The music is awesome and the dance floor is great. San Diego needed a fun country bar in the heart of Gas Lamp. We might return in the future if it's still around but I don't have any desire to return anytime soon.

Lastly, yes sir bar tender I did leave you a $4 tip on a $51 bill because I believe that is what you deserved with the way you treated us. I would of left you more if you deserved more but your attitude towards my husband and his friend was down right horrible. We ordered a vodka/soda, I really didn't think it was rocket science. His friend ordered a PBR and it took you forever to even get it to him. I sure hope you did a better job taking care of the other customers than you did to us that night.

Please take this as critical criticism to improve your business and therefore would improve your tips.

Always,
The costumer who tips based on service

Weekend Recap: Food // Head Bands// Dates

Hello Monday,
You never fail to show up and I can't even really say I am mad besides the fact that I wish I could sleep in on the days I am allowed to like yesterday. Instead I wanted to sleep in today and I can't! Can we please discuss how this needs to change?

This weekend flew by as usual. Can we talk about how my quads really show in these pants? Friday it was out to run errands. I was close to hubby's work so we were able to get lunch together. Also, he's been begging me to come see his new job so it was like two birds one stone kinda deal.

I bought some new head bands because we can never have too many head bands. The rest of the night was spent at home hanging out and watching our show American Crime.

Saturday I was up early for a car wash. I don't think I was ever so excited for one. Than it was off to shots for the baby girl and baseball game for the little guy. Obviously the dogs weren't really interested in the game.

Saturday night hubby & I finally went out for the first time in forever. We went out out to like a bar out. It was a country bar but it was downtown. It was my best friend's birthday party. When I first got that dress back in October it was too small - I am so glad I didn't exchange it because now it fits perfectly. It just shows how what I am doing is actually working at changing my body.

Sunday we were suppose to do the Hot Chocolate 5k but because hubby decided to party too hard saturday night he wasn't feeling too hot Sunday morning to do it. I was a bit upset but I realized I probably needed the sleep anyways.

Instead I was up at 6:45am and Sister and I went off to go grocery shopping and start this new adventure of Paleo/whole30. We went to whole foods, trader joes and Costco. I am going to do a mixture of Paleo/ IIFYM. I am going to focus on clean eating and hitting my macros. After we were home, I ventured into making home made mayonnaise. It turned out pretty good than used it to make hubby's tuna sandwiches for the week.

How was your weekend?

Happy Friday Ya'll

We made it to yet another Friday! I am super excited about that considering this was an extremely rough week.

Anyone ever experience a week that you start to wonder if you will even survive it and if so where in the world does your strength come from? That is me this week. If anything could go wrong, it went wrong! The bright side of things is I made it through my workouts with my trainer and even got out of bed to do a few things at home.

High Five for Friday!

This guy: I swear I have the most human dog in the world. He must sleep on pillows and don't wake him otherwise he is grumpy.

Thank you IIFYM. I was able to eat some ice cream and some keebler coconut cookies. Want to know what else I have been eating? Add me on My Fitness Pal here  or follow me on insta - I have been posting more food pictures as this journey continues.

As said above, my insta food has been getting more on point. This is homemade fish tacos with Mahi Mahi. It is my favorite food in the world, when I make it again I'll make sure to share the recipe.

my two old boys sharing a bed together because the other 4 beds weren't close enough. They sure are silly. Update: Bandit is doing much better now that we have him on thyroid pills.

We had to break out the crate again. Ms. Princess decided to chew a nice hole in the couch and I am not okay with that. Nor do I trust her outside with the boys so back to crating until I feel like I can trust her again in the house.

Don't forget Jasmine and I crated a meet & greet facebook group to meet others and form new friendships.  Feel free to leave a comment or email us to be added, we'd love to have you!!

Happy Friday ya'll!

Current Jams

If there is anything you should know about me, it's that I am a huge country music fan. Anyone else??

I didn't grow up this way. When growing up it was all about the 80s in my house and trust me I can still sing at the top of my lungs to most of the songs.

Throughout my teenage years though it was all about the rap. I love me some Eminem and Drake still! I still listen to them when I am working out too which happens to be more frequently lately.

But at the end of the day, my heart belongs to country music. I have lots of favorite songs but currently these 3 are my jam.

Jessie James Decker - Clint Eastwood is just an amazing song. I've always loved her but she really hits it out of the park with this song. It's all about how guys these days just aren't like they used to be. The days where guys in wranglers with no shirts, cowboy hats and boots are gone.

Jake Owen - Back reminds me of how life used to be when I was growing up. The fact he threw in a skating rink that is now shut down is very true. I live in a very small town and this is how it used to be, sadly it's changing everyday and it's not quiet what it was before.

Cole Swindell - Ain't Worth The Whiskey -- this is the perfect song to turn up, roll the windows down, open the sun roof and sing at the top of your lungs. This is probably my favorite song right now. It also reminds me of one of my best friends who is currently deployed over seas, we used to go out at least once a week for drinks and it was always my favorite day of the week.

What are your current jams that make you want to dance around in your undies?

Lots of Fun Weekend

Happy Monday ya'll! It's the start of a new week and I am determine to make better choices than last week. Whose with me on that? We are our own worse enemy.

Weekends always go by so fast and I got word the hubby might be leaving Tuesday for a mini debt. So it was bittersweet weekend for us. We shall know more later this afternoon. Therefore though my weekend started Thursday since I said no to working on Friday. I love being able to say no and picking and choosing when to work.

Thursday it was the usual off to my trainer for upper body day. I am not sure what I love more upper or lower either way its working now just to get my food on point and do the extra workouts at home.

Than it was off to sushi for date night. The hubby loves sushi so much that we spend less than 30 minutes in the restaurant eating. It took us longer to drive there than it did to eat.

Friday morning we slept in a bit than it was up and ready to tackle the day. We had a day planned of errands and getting last minute things for the hubby before he leaves. Since his baby girl was in a mood he decided to give her a new toy. Friday night my aunt & grandma from Minnesota was in town so we spent the afternoon with them.

Saturday was a full day of baseball. We had pictures in the morning and than a game. I am so excited E man is on the padres this year. I finally have some outfits to wear to the game.

It was so hot that afterwords we all came home and took a 3 hour nap. Than we decided to go to the Asian restaurant for dinner and watch a movie at home. I couldn't eat any more food.

I also got a new GPS watch. Hopefully I continue to use it. We ordered me the heart rate monitor band too with it. It says it will track my runs inside as well so we shall see. I love the color of it.

Sunday was our usual costco and trader joes run for the week. We bought this new cookbook and I am absolutely in love with it. I can't wait to try them out. I am thinking of going paleo for at least 30 days and maybe blogging about each day. We shall see how it goes and what we truly decide.

Anyone paleo? Tips?Advice?

I did my usual cleaning too and decided that I should show you all that my hubby and I write notes to each other on our bathroom mirror throughout the week. I love waking up to them. I clean them up every Sunday so we start over. It's the small things that count right?

Well my weekend went by too fast as usual and I am ready for the week to start. Hopefully it's a good week.

How was your weekend?

March Goals

It's never to late to write out some goals for the month.

I try to do this in my planner but for some reason I am not using my planner like I used too so that just tells me no more spending $50+ on a planner and just go back to a good ol' target one for next year.

1. Organize my desk: It is such a hot mess with papers everywhere and I am not even sure what is what anymore

2. Go one a date with the hubby: It's been a long time since the hubby and I went on a real date. We both have fitness goals so going out to eat is a no go for us but maybe something else.

3. Go one at least one hike: I want to go on at least one hike even if it's something small.

4. Walk on the treadmill 2x a week: I was really good when we first got it now I've faded off with it. I am hoping I can get back to it.

5. Lose 5 pounds: I am so close to the next weight group that I want to do it before April. I just need to focus on my food and continue to track it all.

6. Drink more water: I am doing pretty good with this but I can always do better.

7. Wear some new clothes: I have tons of clothes in my closet that I need to wear them and or get rid of them. I just need to do it!

8. Clean the room: It sounds so simple but it slips by me every weekend.

What are your goals for the month of March?

Weekend Fun + Lots Of Pictures

Hey Tuesday! Nice to see ya here and moving right along. I know I should of posted my weekend fun yesterday but I was so busy that I just decided to do
it today. The best part of being the words/face behind the blog is I get to decide when to post.

It's my oh damn it's Tuesday face already...Monday was a busy day. Work, gym, baseball, and more. Also I am still catching up on sleep after the time change, I feel like the days just fly by now.

Let's chat weekend

Friday: Bandit started thyroid pills. As long as he doesn't have cancer and or another life threatening illness we should be good to go for a few more years with him. I changed up his diet too. Let's watch the fat melt off him now.

Saturday: It was a breathe of fresh air. The boys went out to the desert to meet my dad. That gave sister and I a day of no responsibilities. We lived up to it too.

We left the house around 10 am to go by the coffee truck, than it was off to massages and shopping. Did I shop? I don't think I need anymore clothes probably until Christmas. I did find some jeans though that go over my booty and fit the waist finally..

and you see those nasty teal nails.. I finally got them fixed. They are now hot pink!

Sunday: I was up super early. Hubby slept in because he wasn't home until late. It was grocery shopping day, we hit our usual Trader Joe's & Costco.

We were home all before 10am! Which is record timing for us because normally it's an all day event. I am not really sure what I am going to eat this week but I do know fish tacos will be made again.

Also because it was Sunday and the time changed, I thought it should be celebrated. I drank that Cran-Rita and took a 2 hour nap. I would call it a successful Sunday.

I managed to get my fish oil and mutli ready for the week too! Sometimes it's the simple things that matter to make it that much easier. Also, I get excited when I open like Friday because I know the weekend is here.

This is Simba's new favorite spot to sleep. He is high enough away from Cali trying to eat him and he just hangs out.

There was my busy weekend. I hate how fast they go but I am ready to make this week awesome!

How was your weekend?

Today Is Your Day To Shine

Dear Alex, Thank you for being so amazing. I love the notes on the mirror even though we don't organize them and we have to hunt around to find the one for the day. Hopefully you have a relaxing weekend after all the hard work at work. Always remember I love you to the moon and back plus around the world. Dear Cy, We got this over the next 95 days. We just need to stick it through and watch the changes happen not to mention save some money for your big day! Dear Bandit, I am so happy that you are okay and I am getting you medicine to hopefully help you. I am sorry that I didn't do it sooner. I feel like such a horrible mommy to you. I hope you know I love you to pieces and you will always be my baby. Dear Self, I know you are stressing out with how much stuff is on your to do list but just take it one thing at a time. You will get there I promise. It just might take a few monsters and some help but things will get crossed off and you will continue to add new things. Just breathe! Dear Weekend, please give me the time and strength to do what I need to do. Dear Workouts, I love you power lifting & IIFYM but I really wish the scale would move. I guess it's time to move around some numbers until I start dropping weight again. Bring it on! Also, I need to write up my workout plans for at home. Dear Readers, Sorry I left ya hanging yesterday. I really thought I would have time to write up a post before everything went crazy but apparently not. Please don't kill me.

Happy Weekend ya'll!

Hump Day Fun Facts

Happy Hump Day ya'll! I think I just like Wednesdays to be able to say humppp day! Anyone else with me on that one?

Anywho with all the new comments and visitors around these parts I thought I would do a post about some random facts about me and of course include some iPhone photos because what is a post without some photos right?

Here we go...

1. I am a part time preschool teacher for 2-3 year olds who are in some form of potty training. My days consist of art, circle time, lots of hugs and wiping tears. For the most part it is a very rewarding job to watch them grow and learn, it's like I have 12 of my own children who I only spend 6 hours a day with a few days a week.

2. I love dr. pepper but since I am on this new fitness journey it has taken a back seat. Speaking of this journey, I am seriously loving weight lifting. I never thought I would say that and not to mention I am loving my new lifestyle of eating.

3. Secretly, I love going hiking with the husband. I look forward to it even though we haven't done it in a while. I actually kinda miss it.

4. I take a ton of #selfies! Husband always wonders why I never send them to him but now that I do I think he regrets saying something to me. I post some of them on the insta so feel free to follow along in the fun.

5. If you would have asked me when I was graduating high school where my life would be when I turn 25, I would never guess where I am currently. I am not complaining one bit but I do know I want to do more. I want to see more. I want to achieve more. I want to make 2015 the best year yet in my 25 years of living!

What more do you want to see on the blog? Recipes? Fitness updates? Life in general? Random Facts? Anything and everything?

Happy Hump Day ya'll!

My Big Guy

Today is a big day. I am taking this guy, Bandit. The dog not the husband to the vet. I am thoroughly concerned with his health but for as long as I can remember he's always looked like this and all of a sudden it's gotten worse.

My biggest fear is that the vet will tell me it's best to put him down. I don't think my heart can take it just yet.

Look at those beautiful eyes. He is my dog. I've had him since I was 13 years old. That would put him at 12 years old. He follows me around and protects me like no other dog. I love this guy way more than I show.

Hopefully today will be a positive day!

Hope ya'll have a great Tuesday!

A Little Bit Of This & That

hello bloggies, anyone still around this around? I know it's been awhile since I've shown my face around these parts. Honestly life gets crazy and this is the first thing I kick to the curb. I am going to try to make this month a bit different. Here is what's been happening around my home

This has been my go to breakfast lately. I am in love with it. I call it fiesta eggs (150g of egg whites mixed with 5 layer dip  and grilled onions), 40g of oatmeal mixed with some fruit (blueberries & strawberries) and 1 piece of cinnamon Ezekiel bread with Peanut butter.

This is how I have been feeling lately. Send me to the lonely bin sooner than later right?

Friday nothing to great happened besides the hubby and sister's fiance tried to burn the house down.

I made pizza on my flat out bread. It was pretty good besides the face that I can't eat a whole one even though I always a count for it.

Saturday we were up bright and early because baby sister took a big step into adult hood. She bought her very first car all on her own.

apparently the hubster wasn't nearly as excited as we were.

Inside her beautiful new car. She got a fully loaded white 2013 Chevy Captiva LTZ

and I noticed my beautiful roses from the hubster opened up some more. I could help but take another picture

Sunday was March 1st. Hello March, welcome. I hope you are more amazing than the last two months and we reach even more goals this month.

and per usual we did our weekly grocery shopping on Sunday. We went to trader joes, sprouts, vons  and costco. I try to get a variety of food to eat through out the week because sometimes I get super bored.

Those power crunch bars are to die for.. you should really try one. No the bagels aren't for me, it's for the little one and the tub of cream cheese I am trying to get rid of.

I finally found some triple zero greek yogurt but couldn't find the whips. Maybe next week i will have better luck. I can't be too disappointed though because monsters were on sale 3/ $5

That's what my weekend consisted of. Plus the usual cleaning, laundry and trying to figure out what to eat during the week.

How was your weekend?
